For the last 10 years our eldest son, Johnny, and 3 of his buddies have come to Buck Hill Falls in September for their own private golf tournament. Seventy-two holes of golf in one weekend … makes me tired just thinking about it. One year my husband and I cleared out of the house for the weekend to give the guys their space. The next, they insisted that we stay because “it just wasn’t the same” without us. To make a long story short, our company and my cooking are in demand so I’ll be cooking up a storm for two days and loving every minute of it. Here are my two menus.
Friday Night Dinner
Cheese and salami
Heirloom tomato, basil and mozzarella salad with lemon vinaigrette
Chocolate cake (bakery bought)
Saturday Night Dinner
Guacamole, tomato salsa and mango salsa and confetti chips
California chili (and all the fixings for great chilli)
Orange and red onion salad with lime chili vinaigrette
Cream puffs (bakery bought)
