Intimate Autumn Dinner (8-10 Guests)

Unlike most of America, Autumn doesn’t mean planning a huge Halloween party which we think is just an excuse to dress up and reveal your “inner vixen”.  For us it’s an intimate, cozy dinner for 6-8 of our friends on a cold and blustery night in our beautiful weekend community of Buck Hill Falls.  All the decorations fit in with the season:  pumpkins, apples and gourds.  I can’t keep people out of my kitchen so we have hors d’oeuvres there and dinner in the dining room.  Dessert and after dinner drinks are in front of the fire.  Our celebrations end late in the evening (or early in the morning) with hugs all around and great memories.  Here are two menus, one for meat eaters and one for fish eaters and the wine we would pair with each.
